VGSR

Since 1950, the Association of Reformed Students in Rotterdam has been an integral part of student life in this vibrant city. Primarily located in the west of Rotterdam, it is a student association of engaged Christian students who aim to make the most out of their student life. The VGSR welcomes both university and HBO students, providing a supportive environment for every Christian student seeking friendship and personal growth.

Friendship lies at the heart of the VGSR. As a close-knit and involved association, every member knows each other personally. Thursday evenings are designated as association nights, during which we engage in various activities together. These evenings are dedicated to fostering friendship through sports, group gatherings, and cultural events. We conclude our Thursday nights with drinks at the society by the old harbor, where meaningful conversations and conviviality extend into the early hours! Additionally, the VGSR hosts several annual events, including a grand gala to celebrate the association’s anniversary, as well as numerous weekend getaways.

Beyond partying and friendship, the VGSR also promotes academic diligence and intellectual exploration. Through lectures, ‘dispuuts’evenings, and debate nights, we offer opportunities for personal development during your university years.

As Christian students, we gather every two weeks on Mondays or Tuesdays for a variety of faith-based activities, ranging from Bible study groups with shared meals to praise nights and creative sessions. We offer a diverse array of activities within the realm of faith.

At the VGSR, you’ll find an excellent blend of academic curiosity and friendship. Interested in learning more or visiting us? Feel free to explore our website or get in touch with us!
