The Surinamese Student Association (SSA) is the largest Surinamese student association in the Netherlands with over 1800 members. SSA is an association by students, for students who have an affinity with Suriname, either Surinamese students who continued their education in the Netherlands, students with Surinamese roots, or people who are simply interested in the beautiful culture of the country of Suriname!

Our goal is to make a significant contribution to the further development of students alongside their studies by organizing various activities that are of both direct and indirect value to the entire (Surinamese) student community in the Netherlands. SSA aims to bring the warmth of the Surinamese culture to Rotterdam and strives to be a home for all. The feelings of inclusivity, diversity, and openness are our core competences.

Mission

SSA aims to be a strong platform and provide our members with opportunities for development in various areas, including career, social skills, and personal growth. Additionally, we aim to strengthen personal identification with Surinamese culture.

Vision

To be known as the largest network of highly educated (Dutch-) Surinamese individuals in the Netherlands. Furthermore, SSA aims to produce competent professionals for both the Dutch and Surinamese job markets.
