The RSO is thé student orchestra of Rotterdam

Hey! We are the Rotterdam Student Orchestra, the one and only student orchestra of Rotterdam. Do you play an instrument, have a passion for music, and are interested in playing in an orchestra? Look no further and become a member of the RSO! 😊

Everyone is welcome at the RSO – both Dutch and international students! We rehearse every Tuesday in the center of Rotterdam under the direction of our conductor, Coen Huisman. Every season, we give at least two concerts, not just in Rotterdam but also beyond. For example, we go on tour abroad every two years! The RSO has a broad repertoire, ranging from Romantic and Classical works to modern compositions. Previously, the orchestra has performed pieces by Brahms, Dvořák, Beethoven, Schumann, Sibelius, Wagner, and even scores from films and musicals. We also often collaborate with professional soloists.

Besides rehearsals, we organize a rehearsal weekend and a chamber music day each season. We also have plenty of social activities, such as game nights, dinners, concert visits, and parties. After every Tuesday rehearsal, we head to our favorite pub, The Haagse Bluf, for a drink. In short: the RSO is thé student orchestra of Rotterdam, with lots of music and fun!
