Amnesty International Students Rotterdam (AISR)

Amnesty International Students Rotterdam is composed of ambitious and creative students that want to fight for human rights and justice. Our mission is to provide a platform for young activists to connect with like-minded peers, fostering an environment where individuals grow and improve themselves.

We spread awareness and disseminate information to protect and uphold human rights through social media. This is done by the marketing committee that promotes campaigns such as awareness Friday, black history month, and women’s rights. We also have a podcast committee that advocates by drawing attention to human rights violations, with focus on developing countries, elucidating issues such as the climate crisis in Libya and the political situation in Libya. Furthermore our events committee facilitates a social and academic space, opening for discussion, understanding and bonding, with events such as write for rights, sip and paint and pub quiz. The external relations committee collaborates with other associations to further increase the reach and engagement with students. The well being committee makes sure everything runs smoothly and creates bonding within the organisation. Lastly, the chair oversees operations, delegate tasks, ensure accountability and fosters satisfaction among team members. All together we make up AISR, an association working towards equality of human rights.

Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 10 million people who take injustice personally. As the largest human rights organisation in the world, we are working for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all.
