Student Wellbeing

The Eurekaweek has all the ingredients to be an amazing first experience at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, but we understand that all these first impressions can be overwhelming. Therefore, the Student Wellbeing Programme and the Eurekaweek Management collaborate every year to put several initiatives in place to ensure the wellbeing of Eurekaweek participants.

Your wellbeing during Eurekaweek

During the Eurekaweek, the Student Wellbeing Programme focuses on the wellbeing of participants and crew while providing information about the student support services offered by EUR.

All of the first impressions during Eurekaweek can be quite intense. Therefore, the Eurekaweek programme is specifically designed to support your wellbeing as much as possible. For example, the timetable is designed in such a way that you are able to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. Besides this, the Eurekaweek consists of a wide range of events. In that way, you are able to tailor the programme to your own interests and can choose which events to attend.

Need a moment for yourself? Each daily programme includes a chill area where you can relax and recharge. A student host is always there for you—a fellow student who’s ready to listen and, if you’d like, guide you towards the student support services EUR offers. You can reach out to them anytime to talk about your experiences so far, share how you’re feeling, or just have a chat! And the Base Camp, a low-stimulation, quiet space will be located in the Living Room on the ground floor in the Langeveld building. It’s perfect if you need a break from the buzz.

Confidential Counsellor

You can also always reach the Eurekaweek Confidential Counsellors by phone to discuss your experiences or any problems you might encounter. During and after the Eurekaweek, the Confidential Counsellors are always available to offer their support. You can contact the confidential advisor in case you are confronted by behavior or circumstances you experienced as unwanted, such as sexual harassment, bullying, discrimination, aggression or violence. Together, you can discuss what steps to take and if necessary, the confidential advisor can refer you to a third party.

Student Wellbeing after Eurekaweek

The Student Wellbeing Programme encourages you to grow in balance during your time at university and beyond. Through events, support and resources, the Student Wellbeing team empowers you in navigating challenges, building resilience, and shaping your personal development in a way that feels right for you.

Student Wellbeing Week

Twice a year the Student Wellbeing Programme organises the Student Wellbeing Week. During this week you can attend several workshops and activities, all devoted to mental, physical and social wellbeing, as well as personal growth. Whether it’s taking a short study break in one of our massage chairs or on a smoothiebike or acquiring long-term stress management skills, everything can be found during this week!

The Living Room & Personal Support Hub

Located on the ground floor of the Langeveld building, you can find the Living Room followed by the Personal Support Hub. The Living Room is the only place on campus where studying is not allowed! You are welcome to relax and take your mind off your studies. It is a cozy place to relax, meet other students, and play a game. There is always a trained student host present who is available for a chat and can answer all your questions. For more serious questions and concerns, you can visit the Personal Support Hub. Weekly consultation hours and workshops are organised here.
